Who we are
Petof is an independent review site that helps dog owners compare food and health products without wading through hundreds of listings. We built the site because sorting through dry food, canned food, freeze-dried options, and dozens of supplement types can eat up an entire afternoon. Our team pulls together the ingredient panels, guaranteed analysis, form, life stage guidance, and price for each product we track, then lines them up side by side. The goal is simple: give you enough real information to make a confident choice for your dog.
What we cover
We focus on dog food and dog health supplements only, from dry, canned, freeze-dried, dehydrated, and pouch foods to veterinary diets and toppers. On the supplement side we cover probiotics and digestive support, hip and joint care, fish oil and omega products, skin and itch relief, dental care, dewormers, calming aids, multivitamins, and more. Every category on Petof gets the same treatment: real specs, real prices, and real buyer demand, not marketing copy. We do not cover toys, leashes, grooming tools, or other pet categories outside food and health.
How we work
Every product on Petof starts as a real, currently sold listing with genuine ingredient and specification data pulled from the manufacturer's own label information. We check that a product has real buyer demand and a rating of 3.8 or higher before it earns a spot on the site, and we verify the brand behind it is a real, traceable company. From there we rank and compare products using the details that actually matter, including ingredients, form, flavor, life stage, price, and how owners have rated them. You can read more about this process on our How We Choose page.
Meet the team
Petof's rankings are built by the Petof Research Team, which compiles our data from ingredient labels, guaranteed analysis, form, price, and verified demand across every product we track. Marcus Bell leads our food coverage, focusing on which recipes earn their price through ingredient quality and protein source across dry, canned, and fresh diets. Dr. Lena Ortiz writes our supplement and health guides, covering joint, digestive, skin, and dental products, and is careful to note that her writing is not veterinary advice. Together, the team's job is to translate labels and data into plain, practical guidance for dog owners.
